Quantum Industries launched in 2016, but its roots go back nearly a century.
Originally founded as McKee Electric in 1932, the company was purchased in 1948 by Lester Surgener’s grandfather, an electrical engineer. He and his wife built it into a trusted name in industrial electrical contracting. That foundation—hard work, high standards, and personal accountability—still defines the company today.
Lester Surgener II grew up in the electrical trade. Summers were spent on job sites with his father and grandfather. After serving as an Electrician's Mate in the United States Coast Guard, he returned with a renewed passion for the industry and began leading the company in the late 1990s. By 2008, he started buying out his father's stake in the business. In May 2016, McKee Electric was retired. One month later, Quantum Industries was born.
Built on Legacy. Grown with Intent.
Quantum began by carrying forward the McKee contracts. But it quickly expanded in scale and capability.
Lester grew a small operation into a strong team of carefully selected professionals. Their loyalty reflects the culture Lester built—hands-on, accountable, and grounded in respect. Lester's the first in, last out with an open door to his entire team -- no excuses.
Focused on the Future
In 2024, Quantum added commercial solar installation—up to 10 MW. While the company expands with renewables, Quantum Industries remains deeply rooted in oil and gas, ready for whatever the energy market demands next.
